Nara is a Partner in the Insurance Department.

Nara was called to the Bar in 1994. Since the year 2001, Nara’s primary area of work has been in insurance litigation predominantly acting for insurers in Malaysa and Singapore.

He is one of the handful of lawyers in Singapore with extensive experience acting for motor insurers in Malaysia. Portfolio of insurers that he has acted for include Kurnia / AmGen Insurance, Allianz Malaysia, Zurich Malaysia, Etiqa, Liberty and Generali. He has conducted seminars for Malaysian insurers at National Insurance Claims Society, Malaysia (NICS).

He regularly advices Malaysian and Singapore insurers on cross border claims arising from Road Traffic Accidents. He has vast experience dealing with issues relating to Motor Insurers Bureau where insurers are called upon to satisfy Judgments even though the motor policies exclude coverage. In addition, he advises on jurisdiction issues arising from road traffic accidents.

Nara has also acted as an instructed counsel for claimants in personal injury claims as well as commercial matters.

Prior to joining Kelvin Chia Partnership, he was a partner handling motor insurance claims and workmen compensation claims at M/s Tan Kok Quan Partnership and Hilborne & Co.

He is a member of the Criminal Law Advisory Committee (Review), under the purview of the Minister for Home Affairs. He is also a member of the Law Society of Singapore and the Singapore Academy of Law.
In October 2023, he was awarded the PBM - Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (The Public Service Medal) by the President of the Republic of Singapore for his work with the Criminal Law Advisory Committee (Review).
