Harry specialises in international arbitration and commercial litigation involving high-value corporate matters. Such matters include shareholder disputes, defamation, wills and estate disputes and landlord and tenant disputes. He also provides legal advice and representation for clients in insolvency and restructuring.
In his practice, Harry acts for both individual and corporate clients across industries, ranging from technology, e-commerce funds and start-ups. Harry has also acted in actions relating to the recovery of digital assets and advised on financing through deregulated means.
Harry has extensive experience in high-value, complex commercial litigation and arbitration. He has acted for institutional clients in numerous proceedings in the Singapore Courts as well as international arbitrations conducted with various arbitral centres including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Vietnam International Arbitration Centre and the International Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he has also advised clients on a diverse range of legal issues including shareholders’ rights and illegality in financial transactions.
While conducting disputes on behalf of his clients, Harry focuses on obtaining practical outcomes and providing pragmatic solutions, keeping in mind the commercial goals of the clients.
- Acted for a public listed Australian biochemical company in an arbitration under the SIAC rules to obtain an injunction to prevent a loss amounting to around S$23,000,000.
- Acted for a Burmese construction company in an arbitration under the SIAC rules resisting a claim from its joint venture partner for alleged overspending on a construction of an industrial estate in Myanmar.
- Acted for an English oil & gas company in an arbitration under the International Chamber of Commerce arbitration rules in a claim for damages of over US$10,000,000 arising out of delay in mobilisation of repairs on an oil rig.
- Acted for a Vietnamese entity in an arbitration under the GAFTA Rules in a claim for damages arising from non-delivery of grain.
- Acted for a creditor in insolvency proceedings resisting an application for super priority financing made under Section 211E(1)(c) of the Insolvency Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2017.
