As a member of the firm‟s Corporate and Commercial Department, Ignatius has been involved in a variety of commercial matters/transactions, both in Singapore and also in parts of the Indochina region where the firm has an established practice.

Specifically, as an active part of the Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia Practice Groups, Ignatius regularly assists clients in their various requirements pertaining to (and throughout the span of) their foreign
investments in Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia (“relevant jurisdictions”), respectively, including:

(i) rendering advice on foreign investment laws (and attendant restrictions on foreign participation in certain lines of businesses/investment activities), and the preferred investment structure or
mode of entry into the relevant jurisdictions in view of such restrictions, as well as a wide range of other subjects/issues that may be applicable or relevant to the client;

(ii) conducting legal due diligence investigations on various subjects (including the client‟s local partner or partners, the land/building on which the business will be conducted and other assets
belonging to such local partner(s) or other third parties);

(iii) drafting and reviewing commercial agreements/contracts and other transaction documents pertaining to the investment (e.g.,joint venture agreements, sale/distribution agreements, service agreements, franchise agreements and loan and security agreements etc.);

(iv) assisting in the incorporation/establishment of the designated corporate entity in the relevant jurisdictions; and

(v) assisting in the application for any operating licences as may be required for the investment activities (such as import licences and work permits/visas, etc.) as well as other post-incorporation matters, all in collaboration with the firm‟s local lawyers.
