Jay is the Country Manager of our Cambodia office, KCP Cambodia Ltd., and assists clients desiring to invest or conduct business in Cambodia and can advise clients throughout the investment process - from determining an appropriate investment structure, incorporating in Cambodia and supporting the project with relevant commercial agreements.
During Jay’s career, he has assisted companies in negotiating complex agreements throughout Asia, Europe and the United States and is experienced in handling the linguistic and cultural challenges that arise during cross-border negotiations. Jay has extensive experience in the energy and telecommunications sectors that was gained at Kelvin Chia Partnership and while working in-house for one of Korea’s largest conglomerates. In addition to advising on general corporate and commercial matters, Jay has also advised on the acquisition of prospective oil and gas blocks in Vietnam, Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom; a governmental concession for a resource development project in Cambodia; the development of a gas pipeline in Myanmar; license and service agreements for telecom platforms in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Israel, Kazakhstan, Holland and the United States; an ODM agreement with a major handset manufacturer; service and process agreements for one of Asia’s largest refineries; and the acquisition of shares in a Dutch company.
In addition to his work with KCP Cambodia, Jay also works closely with Kelvin Chia Yangon, Kelvin Chia Partnership’s affiliated law office in Myanmar, as a Foreign Consulting Attorney in respect of Myanmar related transactions.
