Yeow Hiang has represented and advised developers, building professionals, builders and management corporations on a wide spectrum of building and construction related disputes both in the court and in arbitration proceedings. Notably, he was the main counsel who represented an engineering body engaged in an arbitration involving a multi-million recovery claim for damage to a cement silo in Singapore.
He was also a key member of a team which represented a leading Japanese multi-discipline contractor in a multi-million dispute with the Port Authority and its joint venture partner, and successfully argued before the Singapore Court of Appeal in a landmark case involving a novel point on the jurisdiction of the High Court to order a transfer of proceedings from the Magistrates’ Court to the High Court.
Yeow Hiang has accumulated substantial experience in handling commercial and civil disputes. He has represented employees, directors, shareholders and companies in several suits which were tried in the High Court.
He has also represented individuals and corporations in tenancy disputes and has a good working knowledge of will drafting and probate law and practice.
