Qianliang was called to the Singapore Bar in 2011 and practises substantially in the area of Insurance Litigation acting for a number of Insurance companies in matters relating to general insurance, workmen's compensation and motor insurance. He is also experienced in the areas of construction litigation and arbitration, having successfully acted for his clients in numerous construction adjudications under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act (Cap 30B).
Qianliang has successfully argued a number of cases and appeals both at the High Court and at the Court of Appeal, which have found their way into the law reports. He continues to enjoy litigation at all levels of the court hierarchy. Notably, Qianliang was successful before the Court of Appeal in reducing the damages awarded by the High Court Judge, resulting in an important decision by the Court of Appeal concerning the measure of damages in personal injury cases.
Outside practice, Qianliang continues to develop and hone his advocacy skills in various courses conducted by Queen's counsel and Senior Counsel from foreign jurisdictions. He is an advocacy trainer with the law society and also a contributing editor to 'Bullen & Leake & Jacob's Singapore Precedents of Pleadings' (Sweet & Maxwell 2016).
