Dr. Yu specializes in patents, trademarks and other forms of intellectual properties. He focuses on developing, protecting and commercializing inventions in Singapore, mainland China, United States, Japan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and other regions. He is also involved in corporate merger and acquisition where intellectual property is involved.

Dr. Yu obtained his BachelorÃÔ Degree in metallurgical, mechanical, electrical and robotic engineering from Shanghai. He worked as an engineer with an Iron & Steel Complex and a Company of computer systems in Shanghai. After leaving Shanghai, Dr. Yu continued his study with University of Birmingham, UK in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, electromagnetism and chemical engineering. Upon completion of PhD, he joined a multinational corporation in Singapore for product and technology developments. During his work, some of his innovations went straight into products for the international market. The products that were based on his innovations had brought benefits to consumers, as well as profits to his employer. During his work, he was also involved in patent mapping, competitorÃÔ study and product design.

Dr. Yu joined the legal profession in 2005 and has been involved in all manners of patent agency work. His expertise includes drafting patent specifications, responding to Office Actions, providing infringement opinions, and offering legal advices for patent prosecution. In short, Dr. Yu has combined with his legal skills, engineering experience and native Chinese background together in serving his clients with diligence and excellence.
